It's friday. The Iceland Airwaves festival hits Reykjavik like a wall of sound with it's full force. All venues are packed with great bands and music lovers. And beer.

Our friends Dynamo Fog are playing at Organ 9:45 tonight, if you happen to be in Iceland. They just released a video with their new song, Let's Rock'nRock that should get you in the mood:

We are very happy to add a very gifted composer to our artist roster today.

Italian composer Lorenzo Piggici, or Piggio as his friends call him, has composed original music and sound effects for commercials (with clients like Nike, Arena, Good Year), Television (BBC, Discovery Channel HD, FOX), three trailer track albums realised for Boosey & Hawkes, including themes for the 2008 Olympic Games, sound installations (Nuit Blanche in Paris) and films, among which the action movie Bv-01 (finalist at the Hollywood International Film Festival).

We are very proud to welcome him to our team.

There is a whole lot going on, and there is some great music in the air. Here are the higlights:

Eberg is putting finishing touches on his third album, entitled 'Antidote'. We've heard it, and we think it's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. The members of our Facebook group will be enjoying a sneak preview soon (another great reason for joining us on Facebook).

Arnar is working hard in the studio with Leaves, they too are putting finishing touches to a great new album.

Bjarki and Don Pedro are working on finishing new material for Toggi, his next single, 'Silly Old Song' will be released at the end of this month. Toggi will be recording a whole album with us this winter, he and the band are composing the new stuff now. It's been a great summer for Toggi, at one time he had 2 versions of the same song ('Þú komst við hjartað í mér') in positions 1 and 2 in the Icelandic charts, performed by Paul Oscar and Hjaltalín. Wonderful has been doing great as well, with a steady position in the charts and some serious airplay. 3 songs on the top 10 list simultaneously is no small feat for a songwriter.

We have 3 new and very exiting artists joining us, and they will be presented here one by one starting next week. 

Other than that, we are of course working on everyting from new commercials to a soundtrack for a private relaxation chamber, so there is no lack of things to do. Come back soon and check out our new artists and listen to some new music. Over and out.

Örlygur Smári, or Öggi, as we call him, has now joined the Medialux roster of producers and songwriters. Öggi has a very hefty CV and loads of successful productions under his belt, making him a very welcome addition to our team.

Hallur just composed music to a nice new spot for Kaupthing Edge, directed by veteran director Reynir Lyngdal at Pegasus. The spot is aimed at the global savings market, and has been aired in many countries already, to good acclaim.

Hallur Ingolfsson is the latest addition to the ranks of Medialux artists available for your projects.

Hallur has extensive experience as composer and musician for theater, but has catered to short films and commercials as well.

We just finished mixing and mastering Toggi's new single, entitled 'Wonderful'.

If there ever was an 'inside job' this is it. Composed by Toggi and the band, Wonderful was produced by Bjarki and Don Pedro, and mixed by Addi800 over at Syrland Studios. Radioplay will start next week, but since you have come all the way to the internet, it wouldn't be fair of us not to let you have a listen:

While you listen, here are some production details for you:

Wonderful was recorded on May 27th 2007 at Studio 12B in Reykjavik. That's right, more than a year ago.

We had a strict policy of one song per day for the session, and recorded 2 over that weekend. The whole band played all takes of the track, no scratch takes were allowed, we tried to keep a live feel and performance.

Consequently the band took a break, Toggi spawned a beautiful son (with some help from his fiance), and was absolutely too happy and fluffy to write lyrics for the songs. We tried our hardest to make his life miserable, finally succeded, and started recording vocals and minor overdubs last month at our own studio, Wömbin™. From there straight to Addi 800 for mixing. The other song, Silly Old Song will be released in approximately 2 months time.
